Fine. The metal surfaces have an untouched smooth mottled brown patina with some minor oxidation on the left side of the barrel lug, several minor dings on the barrel and a number of minor dings and dents, as well has some minor oxidation on the cylinder. The scene is lightly visible with the "Colt Patent" and matching number "8965" being very fine and totally original. The backstrap and trigger guard retain approximately 85% original silver with areas darkened with age and the exposed brass has an aged patina. There are a number of minor dings on the buttstrap. The grips are very good retaining most of the original varnish and showing some lower edge wear and a few minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
