The top of the barrel is marked "-ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW-YORK CITY-" and "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame. The matching serial number is marked on the barrel, cylinder, frame, trigger guard and back strap and the wedge has the partial number "673." The cylinder is marked "COLTS/PATENT/9673" and is the only marking. The cylinder has the oval stops and the trigger is the squareback variation. The barrel and cylinder were finished blue, the frame and hammer casehardened and the brass trigger guard and back strap silver plated. The revolver is fitted with a one piece smooth ivory grip. With a leather holster. The Wilson Swift bowie knife has a 7 inch long blade, trefoil-shaped German silver guard and smooth ivory scales. The ricasso is marked "WILSON SWIFT/BROAD ST/SHEFFIELD" with the other ricasso marked "D.C.L." in large font. Smooth ivory scales with a German silver initial plate. Stock:
Gauge: 31 percussion
Finish: blue/casehardened/silver
Grips: ivory
Serial Number: 9673
Condition:
Very good as partially refinished. The revolver has an artificial smooth gray patina with some scattered pin point pitting on the cylinder. The markings have been professionally restamped. The grip straps retain traces of original silver plating around the trigger guard with the exposed brass having an aged patina. The grip is fine with a repair on the left side, a few long hairline cracks, a couple missing small chips and some minor handling marks. The ivory has an attractive aged color. Action needs work, cylinder does not always rotate when action is cycled. Holster is fair. The knife is very good with a sharpened blade and some light pitting. The German silver is fine. The otherwise very good ivory has some minor handling marks and an attractive aged color. The sheath is poor with the back having a museum or collector number.
