Colt Mdl SAA Cal .45LC SN:319880
Colt Single Action Army .45 Colt cal., 5-1/2" barrel, factory engraved nickel plated medallion pearl grips, shipped to Krakuer, Zork & Moye, El Paso, Texas October 23, 1911, one gun in shipment. A letter from Zork Hardware to David Tate indicates this revolver was received October 28, and carried as stock #250 and lists it was sold to the Camelite Company about a year later. The factory letter is addressed to Hunter Von Leer who is a well known actor who appeared in more than two dozen films and as a terrorist and hit man in the epic television classic Dallas. Another letter from Ben Lane, noted engraver, describes this pistol as being "master engraved by Helfirch with C+ scroll." The pistol retains 90-95% of its excellent old replated nickel finish which is toned beautifully and aged nicely with ultra sharp edges and markings and the best quality old refinish imaginable. Several experts disagree and believe the plating to be original; however, we are describing it as an excellent old refinish. The medallion pearls fit impeccably and show some minor chips, the interior is very good, some slight wear to the bore, the markings are sharp, the edges crisp and the revolver appears 100% genuine in the way of finish unless inspected by a knowledgeable expert. The engraving quality is exceptional , in which we agree with Mr. Ben Lane
