Colt London Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver
Colt manufactured 42,000 of these London revolvers between 1853 and 1857. These revolvers were in their own serial number range of 1 to 42,000. This particular revolver was manufactured in 1854 with the large round iron trigger guard and backstrap. The top barrel flat is marked "---ADDRESS. COL. COLT. LONDON.---" and the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT". The revolver is absent of any British proofmarks and only a faint "10139" is visible on the cylinder. The complete matching serial number is stamped on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap and arbor pin, the partial serial number, 0139 is marked on the loading lever and the wedge is mismatched. Fitted with a smooth one piece walnut grip.
