Colt Lightning magazine repeating pump action rifle in .44-40 caliber showing S.F.P.D. number 396 on tang indicating use by San Francisco Police Department. Included with this lot is a pair of tower handcuffs alsowith San Francisco police markings. The rifle shows a 26” round barrel with full magazine and rifle butt. The rifle retains 90% to 95% original blue with some minor losses at edges and just beginning normal toning and age.There are some slight scratches and minor marks from storage. The barrel address is sharp and crisp and original sights are retained. The hammer shows 75% to 85% case hardening. The stocks are near fine with just a couple of minor storage bumps and scratches. The butt plate shows 75% plus original blue. The markings are sharp and the edges are crisp, the interior near excellent with a bright bore. A strong 9+ on 1 to 10scale. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
