Colt Lightning magazine repeating pump action baby carbine in .44-40 caliber, serial number 62696. This lightweight baby carbine remains in original very good plus condition with approximately 80% to 90% original blueon barrel and magazine tube drifting on the edges with some minor scratches and just normal aging starting to occur. The frame shows 50% to 70% original blue drifting on the edges and high points and areas where the finish have lifted have gone to a patina with some minor erosion and pinprick pitting. The left side of the frame shows a good clear Rampant Colt stamp. The carbine shows original rear sight and the front sight blade has been replaced into the original post during period of use. The stocks are very good with crisp checkering on the forend, some minor scratches, dings, mars and light cleaning. The wood to metal fit is very good. The markings are sharp the action is crisp. The bore is very good plus and still bright. The carbine has been mounted with an original to the period sling swivels. A very nice and completely authentic baby carbine. Est.:
