Colt Lightning Large Frame magazine slide action carbine, 40-60-260 cal., 22” barrel, wood stocks, #6393. This scarce Colt Lightning Large Frame carbine is in overall good condition showing a light brown patina to metal surfaces with some scattered areas of erosion and pin prick pitting; the action is crisp, the markings good and the bore may clean to good. The wood butt stock is good overall with some scattered mars and scratches from carry and an old crack on the right side of the upper tang that extends approx. 3” , the checkered fore end stock is in very good condition. Factory letter confirms all features and indicates an interesting shipping destination of Olsmith Arms Company, address unavailable on April 27, 1894 in a shipment of 2 guns. Large Frame Lightning carbines are exceedingly hard to locate on the collector market in any condition and are very desirable. Est.: $6,000-$12,000.
