Manufactured in 1872 with the distinctive 4-shot cloverleaf type cylinder. The back strap is inscribed "Geo. F. Stone" inside an ornate engraved border. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address ("COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL/HARTFORD CT U.S.A.") flanked by Maltese crosses. The barrel is numbered to the gun. The ejector rod is mounted in the cylinder pin and extends through a lug on the bottom of the barrel almost to the muzzle. Nickel finish with niter blue hammer and trigger and fitted with two piece bird head grips.

Very fine as period replated, either by retailer or engraver. The revolver retains 95% nickel finish showing flaking on at the muzzle and on the cylinder. The finish is taking on a frosted appearance. The hammer and trigger retain 40% original niter blue finish. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and some high edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
