Colt First Model Dragoon, .44 caliber percussion, brown patina finish, fully inspected with cartouche wood grips, serial #7505. The pistol remains in original good condition showing an even brown patina, scattered light to slightly heavy erosion and pinprick pitting with a heavier pitting occurring on the front of the cylinder, and top of the barrel. The barrel address is legible but light on the first three letters of address. The Colt’s patent and US are well defined on the left side of the frame. The pistol shows a full series of inspection marks including rammer, hammer, and grips show an outline of cartouche on left with partial initials still showing and feint evidence of oval outside ring of cartouche on right grip. The grips are good with losses at the toes, some wear at the edges, some light initials cut in the right grip that are not almost worn smooth. The cylinder shows no traces of scene and there are a couple areas of heavy pitting on the cylinder. All matching visible serial numbers. Good action, good bore. Shows early V-type mainspring.
