Colt First Model .41 Derringer
Manufactured between 1870 and 1890. German silver half-moon front sight and hammer notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." followed by " No1" flanked by Maltese crosses, with "41 CAL" on the right side of the frame. Matching serial number on barrel and butt. The frame has a broad scroll engraving with a checkered spur trigger and hammer. The grip area is iron, with shallow checkering on the sides and deep, sharp checkering on the backstrap.

Very fine. The barrel retains 98% original nickel finish with flaking at the muzzle and breech, with some mild scratches. The frame retains traces of the silver with the balance a mottled gray patina. The engraving and checkering are crisp. Mechanically excellent.
