'USGI' American made WII era double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, manufactured circa 1943 in Hartford, CT. Approximately 50,000 of these revolvers were manufactured between 1942-1945 for use in Word War II. Revolver features a less common 2" barrel, round blade front sight, square notched frame rear sight, non-shrouded ejector rod, knurled ejector rod head, fluted six-shot cylinder, smooth curved trigger, checkered hammer spur, and two-piece checkered brown plastic grips with Rampant Colt motif. Small flaming bomb proof is above the cylinder latch on the left side, and the rampant colt logo is not present. The original parkerized finish retained is aproximately 95% with light scattered scratches, some edge wear, and a drag line on the cylinder. Metal displays no rust, or deformation. Grips are very good with a chip out of the bottom edge of the right grip panel. Action is smooth and crisp with a solid lock-up. The bore is excellent with strong rifling, and cylinders are also excellent. The chambers and bore need to be cleaned. Revolver includes a Colt letter of authenticity.
Condition is near NRA Excellent.
