Colt Coltsman Custom Grade Sporting Bolt Action Rifle, #11905, .30-06 cal., 24'' barrel, blue finish, bright bolt, skipline checkered walnut stock with rosewood forend and pistol-grip cap. Rampant Colt motifs etched to triggerguard and magazine floorplate. This actual rifle is pictured on page 190 of the book ''Colt and Its Collectors''. In 1958 the name of the Colt Model 57 was changed to the Coltsman, and many early guns were made on FN Mauser actions. In 1962 the company began using rifles imported from Sako, such as this example. The Custom Grade was offered from 1962-1965 with a select walnut stock and hand-cut checkering. They are seldom seen today. Condition is excellent. This rifle has previously been on display in the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, WY. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R)
