Colt Burgess Lever Action Rifle
One of only 1,219 rifles manufactured with round barrels between 1883 and 1885. Fixed German silver blade front sight and adjustable semi buckhorn sporting rear sight, with "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / +PAT. JAN. 7. 73. OCT. 19. 75.APR. 1. 79. DEC. 13. 81. JAN 3. 82.+" on top of the barrel, "+BURGESS'S PATENTS+" on top of the lever and the serial number on the lower tang just behind the trigger. The rifle was finished blue with a casehardened hammer. Full length magazine and smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a steel end cap and smooth buttplate with compartment.

Fair. Refinished, with an artificial smooth brown patina overall, showing spotting and deep scratches on the barrel and magazine, dents on the receiver with some small parts absent, and a cleaned stock with a number of scratches and dents. Mechanically good.
