c1926 Lot of 4: very rare and desirable paperback books. There are 2 on Samuel Colt, 1 of Colt`s revolver history and stories, and a catalog of all revolvers and automatic pistols of the period, along with spare parts. This 39 page catalog also lists cartridges, adjusting sights, orders, repairs, and shipping. We estimate this catalog to be somewhere in the 1930`s. The next is titled "A History of Browning Guns from 1831." Copyrighted in 1942, this is a fascinating, highly illustrated story of the Browning family history, and all their incredible contributions to firearms development over their generations. From 1883, Browning worked in partnership with Winchester and designed a series of rifles and shotguns, most notably the lever action Winchester Model 1887 and the Model 1897 pump shotgun, the falling block single shot Model 1885, and the lever-action Model 1886, Model 1892, Model 1894, Model 1895 rifles as well as the long recoil operated semi-automatic Remington Model 8 rifle, many of which are still in production today in some form; over seven million Model 1894s have been produced, more than any other centerfire sporting rifle. The last piece is a "Price List" from a much earlier time (unknown) that enumerates prices of cartridges, powder flasks, Springfield Rifles at $16.00, Colt`s Army 44-100, $10.50, Smith & Wesson Double-Action revolvers, $11.25, and many more. This shows some age, and fold creasing. Overall, all of this highly desirable lot is in excellent condition, and will make a great addition to any collection. - HKA#65251
