Colt Bisley model Single Action revolver in .44-40 caliber, 5-1/2" barrel, factory nickel finish, hardrubber grips, sold to M. Hartley Company, New York. Shipped to A. Baldwin and Company, New Orleans, LA, April 19, 1905, two guns in shipment. All features confirmed by factory letter except grips not listed. The pistol shows 70-80% frosty and original satin nickel finish that is completely unpolished and areas where nickel has lifted going to natural patina with some beginning erosion and pinprick pitting. The small parts and screws show considerable original blue, and the hammer shows strong traces of case hardening. The barrel shows desirable Bisley Model over Colt Frontier Six Shooter. The grips are very good plus to near fine. The front sight is its full height. The action is good, the bore is near excellent. A completely untouched and unpolished factory nickel Bisley in a desirable caliber, and in retrospect we have seen less than a dozen Bisley's in 40 years that lettered "plain factory nickel", and only one other in .44-40. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
