Colt Baby Dragoon Percussion Revolver
Produced in 1849. The barrel is not fitted with a loading lever and correctly lacks the loading cut-out on the right side of the barrel lug, with a brass cone front sight and two line New York City address. The cylinder and frame are stamped "COLTS / PATENT", with a square back trigger guard stamped "T" on the right side and silver finished grip straps. Smooth one piece walnut grips. Wedge is blank, with matching numbers on the barrel, frame, cylinder, cylinder pin, trigger guard and backstrap.

Condition: Fine, with 20% of the original blue on the barrel and cylinder, strongest in the protected areas, with the balance a smooth gray/brown patina. The cylinder scene is very fine, correct and clearly visible. Traces of the original case colored pattern remain on the frame, having faded to a mixed gray. 80% of the original silver remains on the grip straps, showing an aged patina on the visible brass. Grip is very fine with most of the varnish, minor wear on the edges and a few dings and dents. Mechanically fine.
