Manufactured in 1849. The top barrel flat has the two line New York address flanked by dashes, "COLTS / PATENT" is stamped on the left side of the frame and the stagecoach holdup scene on the cylinder, with oval slots. Square back brass trigger guard and smooth one piece varnished walnut grip. Matching numbers on wedge, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap with a mismatched cylinder (10567).

Condition: Refinished. The barrel has a artificial smooth brown patina. The cylinder and frame have a mottled gray patina. There is limited minor spotting. The trigger guard and back strap retain strong traces of original silver plating in the protected areas with the exposed brass having a smooth untouched patina. The grip is revarnished with half of the aforementioned varnish remaining, a couple very small chips at the bottoms and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically functions, but hammer spring is very stiff.
