Colt Baby Dragoon .31 caliber percussion revolver, patina finish with traces of original blue, period ivory grips, scarce 3” barrel, serial #4998. The metal surfaces show a brown patina finish with strong traces of blue mixed in. Approx. 20-30% light cylinder scene remains. The barrel address and patent markings are clear. There are some dings and mars on the bottom of the barrel. The barrel is somewhat pulled away from thepins. The grips are aged nicely and show a good patina with some shrinkage and wear at the edges. All matching visible serial numbers, cylinder shows small Colt’s Patent marking. There are some nicks on the barrelaround the wedge area and a couple of nicks on the top edge of the barrel. There are some traces of darkened silver on the straps. A scarce baby dragoon in this barrel length that is a favorite of 49ers and Old Westcollectors. Est: $2,500 - $5,000
