Colt .36 caliber Model 1851 Navy revolver in good to very good original condition with factory letter stating shipped to Colts Firearms office, New York, New York, April 15th , 1861 with all features verified by factory letter and in a shipment of 130 pistols. The revolver shows an old cleaning which is now drifting back to a nice patina with traces of original blue and case hardening where protected. The markings are good, edges good and generally good overall with approximately 10% to 20% light original cylinder scene. The varnished wood grips are very good plus with 50% to 70% original varnish with some minor losses at the bottom edges. The trigger and small parts show some very bright blue. The action is crisp and the bore is amazingly bright. All matching visible serial numbers. An above average 1851 Navy made at the beginning of the Civil War era. Est.: $1250-$2500
