Colt 3 ½” barrel .38 caliber rim-fire revolver showing 1871 – 1872 patent dates made as a cartridge arm from leftover percussion parts, serial number 305443 refer Flayderman 5B – 132. This Colt remains inoriginal fine condition showing 92% to 98% original nickel with some slight bubbling,minor nicks and just beginning age. The two line barrel address and markings are sharp and crisp. The cylinder retains all ofits originals cylinder scene and shows just minor pitting at the front of cylinder. There is a slight index line between the cylinder stops. The screws and small parts show most of their original finish and the hammer shows most of its bright case hardening with bright blue on firing pin. The varnished wood grips show 90% to 95% original varnish with some scratches and one nick at the bottom of the left grip. All matching visible serialnumbers with good action and excellent bore. A strong 9 on 1 to 10 scale. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
