Colt #3 .41 caliber rimfire derringer, finely period scroll engraved in Nimschke style, silver plated, pearl grips, British proofed, serial #39138. In original partition style case with oak exterior and Colt London Agency label in lid. The derringer shows 75-85% original darkened silver finish that is completely uncleaned, just some beginning normal age, miniscule amount of bubbling, and some slight pitting on the hammer whichshows considerable original case hardening. The grips fit impeccably and are very thick. The engraving is absolutely original to the period and there are no nicks on the back of the barrel from improper closing. The barreladdress is sharp, the grips very good plus. The interior of the case is very good plus with some slight fraying, normal aging, minor discoloration, and original compartment cover is retained. The label is fully intactand just slightly oil stained. The exterior of the case is good to very good, missing its brass key plate, but brass owner’s plate and brass screws are retained.
