Colt 1st model Dragoon .44 caliber percussion with U.S. marked framed and inspections, gray patina finish, later added ivory grips, retaining considerable original cylinder scene, serial number 7677. The metal surfaces have been lightly cleaned long ago and are fairly sharp with good edges and crisp barrel address. The cylinder retains 30% to 50% scene with figures of dragoons and Indians that are well defined. The trigger guard shows the mount for V main spring. The action is good and interior is also good. All matching visible serial numbers except loading lever which is a Colt replacement part numbered 50. The grips have a yellow patina, show good age and are made out of what appears to be walrus tusk and were probably added more than 50 years ago. Est.: $5,000-$10,000.
