Colt 1st Model Dragoon, .44 caliber percussion, traces of blue finish, wood grips, US-marked. Serial #7268. The barrel shows faint traces of original blue mixing with a brownish grey patina, some light to moderate scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. The cylinder shows 20-30% original cylinder scene, some erosion and pinprick pitting, some aging and areas of light cleaning around the number. The frame, hammer, and lever show a natural patina with traces of case hardening mixed in and faintly visible. There are some storage type mars and scratches. The grips are fair to good with small losses at the toes, even wear at the edges, and some punch-dot initials behind trigger guard that are barely noticeable. All matching visible serial numbers, including ramrod. Action not operating. Some minor mars on two screwheads. Interior very good with strong rifling. A far above average 1st-model dragoon out of an old collection, just needing some slight TLC and minor mechanical repair. Est: $4,000 - $8,000
