Colt 1st Generation Single Action Revolver with Factory Letter, #232196, .32 W.C.F. cal., 7.5" barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, checkered hard rubber two-piece Colt grips, smokeless frame, with standard fixed sights. Matching visible numbers. Inside of the loading gate is marked "148". Mfg'd 1902. Revolver is in good overall condition, retaining approx. 40% thinning and toning factory finish. Case colors on the frame have a darkened mottled appearance, with traces of brighter colors in the protected areas. Straps have worn to an even gray color, with significant blue on the trigger guard. Grips with sharp checkering detail and nice Colt emblems, showing a couple flea bite chips at the base of the left panel. Action is crisp with all four clicks. Bore is good, with general mild pitting; rifling is well-defined. Includes a Colt Factory letter confirming the features other than stocks, which are not listed. The letter indicates the revolver was shipped on September 10, 1902 to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company, Chicago, Illinois with five guns in shipment. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (C&R/PPT)
