Desirable U.S. Navy contact single action semi-automatic service pistol chambered in .45 Auto, manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1913. In total approximately only 15,037 Colt 1911 pistol were produced with these early style, U.S. Navy marked slides. Features a blued finish, 5" barrel, low-profile round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with ‘u’ notch, smooth trigger, knurled narrow hammer spur, manual safety on the left side of the frame, grip safety, push button magazine release, 7 round 'key hole' magazine with lanyard loop, steel frame, smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop and checkered walnut grips. Markings: Slide - "PATENTED APR 20.1897/SEPT.9.1902. DEC.19.1905. FEB.14.1911”, “COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD.CT. U.S.A.", [Rampant Colt], “H” & “MODEL OF 1911.U.S.NAVY”. Frame – “5” inspectors mark, "No 43762", “H” & “T”. Barrel - "REP1", “S”, "P" & “X”. Pistol retains approximately 60% of its blued finish overall with some of the smaller parts being newer replacements (barrel, slide catch, thumb safety & hammer). The original finish on the slide and frame show edge wear, scattered handling marks, thinning and a very small amount of oxidation & pitting. Action is sound, the bore is very good, the markings are sharp and the wood grips are good with wear & appearing refinished. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***C&R Firearm***
