Colt 1911 Prototype w/Tansley loaded Chamber Indicator Device. No serial #, 45acp, mfg:1912. Finished in the White. Colt M1911 Factory Prototype with Experimental Slide Mounted Loaded Chamber Indicator, Spring loaded Locked Takedown Lever, modified barrel, extended lightened hammer and oversize grip safety, excellent Checkered Diamond Grips, with proper Early First Model "in the white" magazine. Right of slide is marked "TANSLEY'S INDICATOR MAR 4TH 1912". No other markings or proofs. The loaded Chamber indicator was developed at the request of the U.S.Army during trials. Mr. George H. Tansley was a Colt Engineer who had Patents filed by Colt's Patent Attorney E.Ju. Ehbets. Formerly in the Sid Aberman Collection. Est. $10,000-20,000 Note: Does not include envelope shown in picture.
