Large frame double/single action revolver manufactured circa 1886. Features nickel finish, checkered dark brown hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt horse emblem, birds head grip frame, 4.75" barrel with ejector rod, fixed sights, lanyard ring at butt. Bore is fair to good, strong rifling, several small areas of light pitting visible throughout. Retains about 60% coverage of a dull grayish brown color, with nickel finish visible, shallow patina in many areas. Grips are worn from handling with a small chip out of the rear right panel. The cylinder pin and screw appear to be newer replacements. Cylinder can turns slightly with trigger & hammer at rest. Action is fairly smooth with fair lock-up when trigger is held to rear. Double line barrel address and serial number and the caliber on the triggerguard are readable. No other marks observed. Comes with a period brown leather holster rig with hand tooled scroll designs on the belt which has full coverage of cartridge loops, all intact. double loop holster has tooled floral design above the top loop which is stamped "44". The revolver and holster rig have seen hard use. The tip of the belt is torn. The revolver is a perfect fit and appear to have been together a very long time.Condition is NRA Good as Antique Firearm.
