Double Action "Sheriff's Model" Revolver manufactured in 1882. 2 1/2" barrel is not fitted with an ejector rod and has an elongated cylinder pin that can be utilized to extract spent cartridges. The top of the barrel has the correct short barrel address in two-lines reading "COLT'S PT. F.A.MFG CO/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.", the etched panel "COLT. D.A. 41" is on the left side of the barrel. The left side of the frame has the Colt three-line/three date patent markings. The serial number "43174" is located on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard, and back strap. The loading gate is stamped with the assembly number "387". "41 Cal." is stamped on the rear left triggerguard. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, 6-shot fluted cylinder. Reblued finish fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The reblued finish is about 95% with some minor muzzle/edge wear, some scattered very light areas of pitting are visible under the refinish, action works well. the bore is very good with strong rifling and the grips have turned brown with age with most the the checkering and rampant colt's worn smooth. Colt markings are clear, readable.
