Colt 1862 Police Model revolver in very good plus condition with original to the period case. This police shows 5 ½” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, varnished wood grips, serial number 21722. The barrel shows 30% to 50% drifting and toning blue finish which has aged nicely and retains some bright areas. The barrel address is good and sharp. There are some minor nicks and light beginning erosion. The cylinder shows 50%plus original blue and is still bright in the flutes. Sharp patent dates on the cylinder. The frame shows 50% to 70% case hardening that is dulling and darkening slightly. The hammer and loading lever also show about 50%case hardening. There is some bright and inky blue beneath the loading lever. There is traces of darkened silver plate on the straps which show an uncleaned brass patina. The varnished wood grips are very good plus with80% to 90% thinning original varnish with just minor imperfections. All matching visible serial numbers, tight action and bright bore. This Police is retained within its original to the period partition style
