Colt 1862 Police, .36 caliber percussion revolver, 4-1/2” barrel traces of blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, serial #15744. The pistol remains in good original condition showing considerable traces of blue and case hardening within a grey to brown patina, scattered light to moderate erosion and surface pitting, some slightly heavier pitting in a few areas. The top of the barrel and edges show a few nicks and mars from carry and use. The barrel address is good, patent markings are good, grips are very good, with 75-85% varnish, some edge wear and small scratches. All matching visible serial numbers, good action, clear patent dates on cylinder, good interior. A Civil War era ’62 that saw exposure moisture and was probably carried in a holster which caused the mottling. Est: $800 - $1,600
