Colt 1860 Army revolver .44 caliber percussion deluxe New York style scroll engraved and silver with gold plating mounted with fancy raised carved and checkered ivory grips, serial number 14773. The engraving is very well executed and deep in the style of L.D. Nimschke. This revolver retains 90% to 95% of its original silver plate drifting on the back strap and some small losses on the right side of barrel lug. The cylinder showsa very old restoration of the gold gilt with some minor pitting since re-gilt. The cylinder shows most of its original light cylinder scene. The hammer and loading lever show most of the rich original gold finish,aging and toning nicely with some slight bubbling and beginning peeling. The grips are fine to near excellent and are very deluxe and well carved. The action is tight and the interior is near mint. The cylinder retainsmost of his safety pins and all matching visible serial numbers.
