Colt 1860 Army conversion to .44 centerfire, transition model between Richards and Richard Mason, 8” barrel, nickel finish, varnish wood grips, serial #195469. Showing 1871/72 patent dates, conversion plate, and hammer that masses through frame with pinned center-fire firing pin. Standard type Richards conversion ejector rod. Refer Flayderman 5B-119. The conversion remains in original good to very good condition showing 50-60% original nickel drifting on cylinder and edges. Areas where nickel has drifting have gone to patina with some erosion and pinprick pitting has just started where the metal is exposed. The cylinder shows 30-60% cylinder scene. The engagement dates are mostly visible on the cylinder. There are some nicks and mars on the area of the lug and some areas of darkening but generally good metal surfaces with sharp address and patent dates. The ejector rod housing retaining screw is slightly marred. The hammer shows 30-50% case hardening. The varnish wood grips are good with 20-30% scattered varnish, some wear at the edges, small losses, minor imperfections, and at least good to very good overall. All matching visible serial numbers
