Rare "Mormon Avenging Angel" .44 caliber percussion 6 shot revolver with 1 piece oiled walnut grips. Serial Number: 689xx Matching numbers Colt (3" Barrel). Nice working revolver, with nice overall patina. Brass trigger guard, steel backstrap. About 80% cylinder scene. (Side Note: This gun has a large "E" stamped on bottom of the barrel and a medium sized "k" stamped on both cylinder and barrel. There is also a Gaelic “E” stamped on the backstrap and cylinder, a mark unfamiliar to the cataloger, which could be the gunsmith's markings who shortened the barrel and added the sight. It is interesting that the maker/owner marked the gun with the same letter in Gaelic and English.) Works well, good overall, a fine addition to any Colt revolver collector, especially large frame Colt Army Collectors. Black Powder Antique State: City: Date: FHWAC#: 39810
