Colt 1860 Army Percussion Revolver, #157957, .44 cal., 8'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, beautiful one-piece ivory grips. Mfg'd 1866. Complete in a high quality period Mexican mfg'd slim-jim holster with fine tight stitching, suede-lined interior, and single belt loop affixed with arsenal type brass washer and rivet. Condition is very good to near fine retaining approx. 85% finish to barrel assembly. Cylinder retains approx. 50%+ original blue with light wear at high edges. Case hardened colors to frame and hammer remain approx. 40%-50% vivid, with silvering to high edges of recoil shield and very light general pitting and scuffing. Iron backstrap retains approx. 20%-30% original blue. Triggerguard with silver in protected areas and very thin frosting forward of the bow. Grips show little wear and very minor shrinkage. Screws show minor evidence of turning, except wedge screw which has split. All visible matching serial numbers, including wedge. Safet!
y pins are present; percussion nipples are unobstructed. Revolver shows very minor use. Most finish loss appears to be from holstor storage. Action locks up tight, bore is excellent. Holster retains nearly all its original stitching with small losses to original exterior finish. Red border work shows thinning. Interior with light areas of fraying where it comes in contact with sharp parts of gun, mainly around hammer. A beautiful Colt Mexican rig dating from the mid-1860s. Est.: $5,000-$7,500.
