Colt 1860 Army .44 caliber percussion U.S. military issue revolver used during Civil War, serial number 118771. Mounted on plaque with light and label reads “Battle Of Gettysburg, Spangler Spring, June 1st ,2nd and 3rd 1863, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The revolver is mismatched with the barrel number reading 88552 the other major parts are numbered 118771 except the cylinder which has no legible number. The barrel and cylinder show light to heavy scattered pitting and erosion. The grips show 5 notches on the lower right and fit well. There are small wood losses and normal aging to the grips. The action works well. Our consigner obtained this Colt from an old collector who displayed it in his home and purportedly found it when he was a youth in this location.
