Martially marked & inspected single action percussion revolver issued to the Union Army during the civil war, circa 1863. Features an 8" barrel with "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-" marking, blade front sight, notched rear sight, leading lever, non-fluted six shot cylinder with roll stamped naval engagement scene, brass triggerguard & front strap, checkered hammer spur, one-piece smooth walnut grips an illegible cartouche & a "W F & CO" stamp on the left side. Barrel address is crisp, patent markings are faint, cylinder scene is 86% intact and all serial numbers match. Inspector marks; "F" & "L" on the barrel, "CC" & "L" on cylinder, "W" on the front strap & " W" on the backstrap. Revolver retains small amounts of finish in some protected areas with the majority of the metal surfaces turned to a nice aged brown patina with very little pitting or rust. Action does not rotate the cylinder, bore is very good with some light old pitting and wood grips are near fine with some small losses. Condition is very good+. ***Modern Firearm***
