"Three Screw Military Frame" Antique single action cap-n-ball black powder percussion revolver. Early manufacture, circa 1862. Features an 8" round barrel, German silver low profile blade front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the hammer lip, smooth thin trigger, knurled hammer spur, non-fluted six shot cylinder with roll stamped Naval Engagement scene, loading lever, round brass trigger guard, steel backstrap, shoulder stock cuts in the recoil shield & butt and one-piece oil finished smooth walnut grip. military inspector stamps, B & D on barrel, H on triggerguard, C on cylinder. Bore is fair to good, strong rifling, some scattered light pitting. Metal surfaces show a uniform dull molted gray patina with areas of pitting. Wood grip is good with slight shrinkage, several small chips or gouges. Cylinder scene is not visible. Single line barrel address is fairly crisp. Serial number repeated on barrel, triggerguard & back strap. Cylinder & wedge are mismatched. Two of the frame screws appear to be newer replacements. Action is sound. Comes in a nice glass topped, blue felt lined display case with key and a Navy model iron double bullet mold for .36 cal. conical and ball bullets, complete with sprue cutter, appears to have been in the elements for a while. Tag states "From local Gettysburg collection". Also included are seven conical and one ball battlefield recovered bullets and a Civil War "Gang" bullet mold, made of copper for making four conical .36 cal. bullets at once. Tag states "Quite probable of Confederate manufacture". A nice set.
