Colt 1860 Army .44 Cal SN: 113823
Refinished martially marked single action percussion revolver issued to the Union Army during the civil war, circa 1863. Features a nickel plated 8" barrel with remnants of the standard barrel address, low-profile blade front sight, notched rear sight, nickel plated loading lever, blued non-fluted six shot cylinder without scene, brass triggerguard, nickel plated hammer with 'v' notched rear sigh, shoulder stock cuts in the recoil shield & backstrap and one-piece smooth walnut grip. The serial numbers match on the barrel, frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and cylinder pin. However the serial numbers on the barrel, triggerguard and backstrap are all stamped in a similar front and show filing marks which may indicate that they were restamped at some point. Inspector marks; "H" on the barrel, "B" on cylinder, "F" on the cylinder pin & "S" stamped twice on the triggerguard. Revolver exhibits a bright nickel refinish on the barrel, loading lever, frame and hammer. The cylinder has been blued and shows no scene or serial number. The action is strong, the bore is good+ with light pitting, markings are faint/incomplete and the walnut grip is good as slightly shrunken with repairs at the toe. Condition is NRA Good. ***Antique Firearm***
