Colt 1851 Navy revolver early small guard variation in near fine original condition serial #9196. The barrel shows 85-95% original factory blue that is starting to drift at the edges with some minor toning and beginning light age. The cylinder shows 50-70% blue with an index line between the stops, some slight toning and normal age. The cylinder shows 90% scene with engagement dates on the edge. The frame and hammer show90-95% bright and fiery case hardening with some erosion on the right side of the frame near screw but otherwise brilliant. The varnished wood grips are fine to near excellent with some slight edge wear, minormarks and about 90% varnished. The back strap and trigger guard show 90% plus original silver. Action tight, and bore excellent. Markings and edges are crisp. Definitely a candidate for a case.Est.;$9,000-$18,000.
