Colt 1851 Navy revolver London series with scarce brass trigger guard and original oak case. This .36 caliber percussion Navy shows London barrel address with British proofs, large brass trigger guard and is serialnumbered 42694. The barrel shows 75% to 85% original bright blue thinning at the edges with some minor scratches and just normal aging, the metal is sharp and the markings crisp. The front sight is an old handmadebrass replacement. The cylinder shows most of its original well-defined cylinder scene with sharp engagement dates. The cylinder shows traces of original blue and is crisp with a nice patina. The frame, hammer andloading lever show 50% to 70% case hardening which is aging naturally with some bright areas of rainbow colors. The backstrap and trigger guard show 20% to 40% darkened silver plate with the balance going to a naturalbrass patina. The varnished wood grips are very good plus to near fine with 75% to 85% original varnish and just slight edge wear. All matching visible serial numbers. The action is frozen. The Navy is contained
