Colt 1851 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, traces of blue and case-hardened finish, varnish wood grips, serial #54510. The barrel shows 10-20% blue mixed with a browning patina, some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting but generally good edges and sharp markings. The cylinder shows 60-70% original cylinder scene with a light brown patina. The hammer, frame, and lever show traces of case hardening within a grayish brown patina. The backstrap and triggerguard show 40-60% darkened original silver plate. The grips are good to very good but have been lightly refinished and show some small losses and are very slightly undersized. Good markings, good edges, bright bore. All matching serial numbers. A good example of a gold-rush era Navy. From the Bernard Braverman Estate. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
