Colt 1851 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, small guard variation, blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, serial #60362. The buttstrap is neatly punch-dot engraved “M. R. Wind”. The revolver remains in very good plus to near fine original condition, approx. 60-80% original bright blue on barrel, some drifting and flaking at the edges and edges where finish has lifted show some beginning erosion and just starting pinprick pitting. The edges are very sharp and crisp, the area around the wedge port show a few slight nicks and scratches. The cylinder shows 70-80% original blue, some drifting to patina, minor nicks, light erosion and beginning age. Approx. 90% cylinder scene. Engagement dates visible on edge. The frame shows 50-60% case hardening on left, 75-85% on right. Some beginning erosion and pinprick pitting just starting, mostly on the left side and top of left recoil shield. Right side of frame shows brillian rainbow colors and has survived in better condition than the left side. The hammer shows 30-40% case hardening, some darkening at the face and pinprick pitting from firing. The loading lever shows 75-85% strong case hardening. The
