Colt 1851 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, marked with one and two-digit numbers. Assembled from leftover spare parts from Stokes-Kirk of Philadelphia, who purchased the majority of leftover percussion parts from the factory at the turn of the century. S-K sold these arms as surplus up until the wartime era. The barrel shows 75-85% original blue of military type drifting at the edges, some scattered light erosion and a few storage marks. The barrel address is razor-sharp. The front sight is the blade and post type. The cylinder shows 75-85% original blue and single-digit “2”. Nearly all the cylinder scene. The US marked frame shows 90-95% bright case hardening, just some beginning age and minor drifting. The hammer shows 90-95% bright and fiery case hardening. The loading lever shows 95% bright case hardening and is numbered “56”. The barrel is numbered “11”. The frame is un-numbered. The large brass guard is numbered “2”, the backstrap is numbered “87”. The grips are military type and are marked “M” with no final cartouche, and are very good plus to near fine, but not an exact fit. The backstrap and trigger-guard do not
