Transferred Jun 65 to 14th Corp near Louisville, Kentucky where he returned to his Regiment and mustered out. The Colt remains in original very good plus condition showing 60-80% original blue on left side of barrel, 30-40% on right side of barrel with some erosion, darkening and pin prick pitting where finish was lost from being carried in holster. The cylinder has gone to patina with 60% scene going slightly light. The frame, hammer and lever show 40-60% case hardening going “smoky” grey with some area of rainbow hues still showing lightly. The backstrap and trigger guard show 40-60% darkened original silver plate. The grips are very good plus with 60-70% varnish, slight wear at bottoms and edges at least very good overall with a couple miniscule losses. The markings are good, action tight, bore good, all matching visible serial numbers. An absolutely Genuine inscribed ’51 Navy that probably saw action at Gettysburg. Est. $6,000-12,000
