Colt 1849 pocket model, .31 caliber percussion, 5” barrel, traces of blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, five shot, two line new York address, serial number “93377”. This small guard pocket remains in original good condition showing slight traces of blue drifting to brown on barrel, considerable original case hardening on smoky grey on frame, at least 40%. The cylinder shows 80-90% original stage coach hold-up scene and has been heated to extend a reblued finish. The varnish wood grips are very good plus to near fine with 90% original varnish, a couple of bruises, slight wear at the edges and normal aging. There is some slight erosion and pinprick pitting, mostly on the barrel. All matching visible serial numbers. Good action, crisp overall, good interior. 40-60% darkened silver on the straps. A decent 5” pocket that would improve with rerestoration of poor finish on cylinder. With Charles DuPont inventory sheet recording purchase in 1983. Est: $700 - $1,400
