Private First Day of Issue Cover, King George VI, 1937, 1 Anna & 9 Pies Stamps, First Day of Issue Cover, the coloured print depicts the cypher used by KGVI on the top left with “G VI R – 1937”, Undivided India’s map with highlighted “CALCUTTA” within & “INDIA” below, cover addressed to “Nilmoni Bhattacharji, Esq, | 12 Harish Mukerji Road | CALCUTTA.”, two circular dispatch seals "AMHERST STREET | CALCUTTA | 23 AUG. 37 | 3 45 P.M.", the delivery seal on the back as “BHAWANIPUR | CALCUTTA | DELY. | 24 AUG 37 | 8 30 A.M.”, excellent condition.

Note: As can be seen from the cypher on the cover, G VI R represents King George VI of the United Kingdom, whose Royal Cypher was "George VI Rex" (Rex is Latin for King). In the Commonwealth realms, royal cyphers are used on government papers, duty stamps, and similar items, and on royal arms and crowns.
