Gavus, shrine box, are usually put on altar or carried by Buddhist believers. Statues of Buddhas and guardians of Dharma or amulets are placed in it. It looks like a mobile shrine. Some are made of gold, silver, copper or other metals, but there are also wood ones. This is a silver Gavu inlaid with gold. A statue holding his consort is placed inside. The shrine box is decorated with lotus and flame gems in the gold-inlaying technique. These decorative patterns are commonplace.
