Manuscript DS, signed “N. Bayard Secretary,” also signed “Johannes de Peyster,” “Johannes van Brugh,” and “I Bedloo,” one page, 11.5 x 14.5, December 12, 1670. Written in Bayard’s hand and witnessed by aldermen Isaack Bedloo and Johannes van Brugh, Johannes de Peyster sells land to Christoffer Amir. In part, “Know all men By these Presents, that I Johannes de Peister of New York, Merchant, for an in Consideration of Certain sums of Monies…do fully Cleary and absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sold assign…unto Christoffer Amir his heirs & assignees, Certain Lott of ground Scituated lying & being within this Citty, on the southern of the Street Called the Cingel…to the West the house & Lott of Adrian Dirckson, and to the North the Street before Named; Containing in Length & Breadth according to a Pattent of Confirmation from the Right honnble Governr Richard Nicolls bearing date the 27th day of November 1667.” In good condition, with fragile intersecting folds, scattered toning, scattered ink erosion, primarily to first line, scattered creases and wrinkles, and some professional reinforcement to folds on reverse.
