South Carolina. December 23, 1776. Two Dollars. Fully Signed and Issued. PCGS graded Very Fine-30.
Fr. SC-136a. All four signatures are present, plus the serial number 2536. Printed on heavy, coarse paper by Peter Timothy. The note face with Rooster vignette and motto in seal, all within ornate borders with conversion rates. The backs with floral borders, denomination equivalents and date '1777', and has four Hebrew Text Letters on the central reverse used from the Press of Francis Salvador as decoration and anti-counterfeiting devices. Holder reads, Apparent minor mounting remnants which are minor and well away from the notes frame lines. Overall even in circulation. Rarely encountered being Fully Signed and Issued, as such, certainly missing in most Colonial or South Carolina currency collections.
