Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. April 20, 1781. One Shilling Six Pence. PMG graded Extremely Fine-40.
Fr. PA-245. This very impressive and rare Revolutionary War note has deep black printed text and designs within four full margins providing nice centering on both its face and back. This issue is “Printed by JOHN DUNLAP (famous printed of the historic Declaration of Independence Broadside version) 1781” and “To Counterfeit is DEATH” legends are vividly printed. The paper’s watermark reads “PENSYL-VANIA” being in large text design within the fresh bright clean period paper. This note appears conservatively graded, having the overall eye appeal near Crisp Uncirculated with just a couple faint folds seen on its reverse. A beautiful example and a scarce issue. The One Shilling Six Pence denomination is virtually impossible to locate so nice in quality.
